SMS Notifications and Consent

Last updated: August 11, 2026

Overview

This page documents how customers opt in to receive SMS messages from Shredr, what messages they'll receive, and how to opt out at any time.

Opt in online

Most customers opt in at the valet platform when they drop off their keys. You can also opt in here. Enter your mobile number and we will send you two messages: the program welcome message, and the sample key-code message shown below, prefixed with “Shredr sample message:” so it cannot be mistaken for a live pickup code.

Consent is not a condition of any purchase. We record your number, the time, and the exact wording above as your consent record.

About Shredr

Shredr is an AI-powered document processing and operations automation platform. Our first SMS use case supports airport valet operations at partner facilities, including Appleton International Airport (ATW).

What messages you'll receive

After dropping their keys at the valet platform, customers receive an SMS containing a virtual key code to retrieve their car keys from a secure smartbox. Messages are strictly transactional. Shredr does not send marketing or promotional SMS.

Sample message

Hi John Smith! Thank you for using Shredr service for your airport valet services. Your virtual code to pickup your Mazda Miata keys is 653497. Please go to the smartbox, enter the virtual key, and pick up your car keys. Thank you for using Shredr services!

How you opt in

There are three ways to opt in. Nearly all customers use the first.

1. In person at valet drop-off

  1. The customer arrives at the valet platform and hands their keys to a Shredr valet attendant.
  2. The attendant asks the customer for their mobile phone number and reads the following consent script aloud:
“Would you like to receive text message notifications from Shredr containing your virtual pickup code for your car keys? Message and data rates may apply, message frequency depends on your service usage, and you can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Do I have your consent to send SMS notifications to the mobile number ending in [last 4 digits]?”
  3. Consent is optional and is not a condition of the valet service. If the customer agrees, the attendant records the consent in our system along with the timestamp, attendant ID, consent script version, and the phone number.
  4. The customer receives an opt-in confirmation SMS:
Shredr: You have opted in to receive text messages containing your valet key pickup code. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe.

2. Online through this page

The customer enters their mobile number in the form above and ticks the consent checkbox, which is unchecked by default. The disclosure shown next to the checkbox reads: “By checking this box you agree to receive transactional text messages from Shredr containing your valet key pickup code. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.” Consent is not a condition of any purchase. On submit we record the phone number, timestamp, IP address, and the exact consent wording, then send the welcome message and the sample key-code message.

3. Reply START

Customers who previously opted out can resubscribe by replying START to any prior Shredr message.

Message frequency

Frequency varies. Typical valet customers receive one to two messages per transaction (virtual key delivery and optional pickup confirmation).

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Shredr does not charge for SMS messages, but standard carrier rates from the customer's mobile provider may apply.

How you opt out

Reply STOPto any Shredr SMS to unsubscribe. Shredr sends from a US toll-free number, where opt-out is handled by the mobile carrier rather than by Shredr, so you will receive the carrier's standard confirmation and no further messages after that:

NETWORK MSG: You replied with the word "stop" which blocks all texts sent from this number. Text back "unstop" to receive messages again.

Reply START or UNSTOP to resubscribe. The carrier confirms that as well:

NETWORK MSG: You have replied "unstop" and will begin receiving messages again from this number.

Reply HELP for support contact info. Customers can also email support@shredr.ai to request removal.

Consent records

Shredr retains a record of every opt-in including the phone number, timestamp, opt-in method, consent script or disclosure version, and the attendant ID for in-person consent. Records are available for audit on request.

Privacy and data handling

Phone numbers and consent records are stored securely, are not sold or shared with third parties for marketing, and are used only to deliver the transactional messages described above.
